Real Housewives on Wall Street?

The RSP loves! Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City. Among the loud personalities of Jill Zarin (fav!), Bethenny, Ramona, Alex, Kelly and Countess de Lesseps, there is an absent representation for a women who shares the same New York City playground as these fancy females—the Wall Street Housewife. The RSP has taken it upon itself to provide a glam Wall Street Housewife mock-up in case the powers that be elect to debut her to the Bravo viewership.
Enter our Wall Street Housewife. An Ivy League grad turned investment banker, she is an SVP and always looks flawless in a custom made suit, killer designer pumps and the latest Birkin. She has two adorable children who maintain a strict Crew Cuts and Ralph Lauren Children uniform and attend a top New England prep school. She never misses an important school event for her children and is actively involved in the school’s board. Her husband (dashingly handsome and clad with an endless supply of Hermes, Ferragamo, and Kiton ties) makes more money than her and is a pillar of perfection opposite her in the family’s annual Christmas card. After getting her kiddos fed, prepped and ready for school, she gets picked up from her beautiful garden estate in a black Town car before arriving at the office with a fresh Starbucks latte waiting on her desk, compliments of the new intern. After doing some work, she goes to Equinox for a relaxing Vinyasa yoga class before returning back to work to tie up some loose ends. After having the town car stop at Whole Foods en route home, she fixes a wonderful meal for her family of four. Next day: repeat.
Sorry: That was mean. Perhaps it is better to just acknowledge the harsh reality that glamour is absent from the world of the Wall Street Housewife and it is more about the fulfillment from being able to do it all and make it work? While maybe there is not a viable market for this type of personality on the television circuit because A) Spreadsheets and M&A deals are boring B) It would be too stressful to watch as an entertainment medium and C) The likes of the major banks would have a fit having a television crew in the office, the Wall Street Housewife is nonetheless still a champion among her family and Wall Street peers and should be celebrated as a heroine in the real, world of reality.
