Summer Friday Getaway #1: The Hamptons

The following post is dedicated to loyal RSP fans and Queens of the Beach: Leslie, Lindsey, Alison, Lauren, Evelyn, and Megan.

Memorial Day is right around the corner and the RSP is getting antsy for summer. Real antsy. To harness our excitement, the RSP has decided to kick off the first of its Summer Friday Getaway Destinations by profiling the Hamptons. The following post pays tributes to the RSP favs from this summer hot spot, suggests what to wear, what to bring, and where to go:

What to Wear: Grab your beach tote, sandals (we chose neon as we are loving neon this season and there is no appropriate neon office gear), shades, tunic/cover-up, and suit (pack a one piece to avoid those awkward work colleague run-ins sporting that bikini of yours) and you are ready to go.

What to Bring: Your latest beach read, towel, cash to park, and a shiny new beach cruiser (the RSP all time favorite mode of beach transport...especially when equipped with a basket and ipod speakers blaring beach tunes).

Where to Go:

  • Cooper's Beach: An RSP fav for its bathrooms, parking access, and snack bar.
  • Clam Bar: To die popcorn shrimp and veggie burger.
  • Amagansett Farmers Market: Amazing fresh vegetables and baked goods. Definitely try the scones.
  • Shopping in Southampton: Check out great stores like Roberta Roller Rabbit, DVF, JCrew Beach, Alice + Olivia, Ralph Lauren, and Theory.
  • Tate's Bake Shop: Perhaps the most yummy chocolate chip cookies of all time. The RSP likes to think that because they are such thin cookies that they are calorically harmless
  • B Smith's in Sag Harbor: The best view for a meal in the Hamptons.

(Not to worry non-East Coast She-Office Ninjas, destinations with a closer proximity to you will be coming soon.) Enjoy!
